Just 30 minutes from Las Vegas and only 7 miles from Hoover Dam, the Boulder Dam Hotel is nestled in the historic district of clean, green Boulder City. Built during the construction of Hoover Dam (then Boulder Dam) the hotel has been beautifully remodeled to preserve the classic style of the era and to offer all the comforts modern travelers expect. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum is located on the first floor of the Boulder Dam Hotel and is the perfect accompaniment to any tour of Hoover Dam. The Museum's three-dimensional, interactive displays and exhibits describe the great social and economic forces that drove thousands of unemployed citizens from their homes into the isolation of the Nevada desert. Hotel guests receive a free pass to this fine museum.
Considered one of the Modern Wonders of Civil Engineering, the Hoover Dam stands as a profound testimony to the thousands of men and their families who braved the Southern Nevada desert to finish the project under budget and ahead of schedule. Over one million people tour the Hoover Dam each year. Tours are available daily from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Something for everyone! Take a ride on the Nevada Southern Railway, explore the River Mountains Loop Trail, cruise Lake Mead aboard the Desert Princess, browse Boulder City’s unique shops, inspect the fascinating sculptures and murals around town, and tour one of the historic neighborhoods that once housed those who built Hoover Dam. Certainly, Boulder City is one of the most unique, authentic destinations in Southern Nevada.
